IMVU changes their tune, Credit pending to start on monday
Posted on September 9, 2011 by Blaze in IMVU, News
In what seems like a small response to the plethora of complaints by content creators over the credit escrow plan announced at the beginning of this month, IMVU announced changes to the plan. More correctly naming it a ‘credit pend’, they also shortened the credit hold from 30 to 14 days. The plan goes into effect on Monday, Sept. 12.
You can read the forum announcement here.
There will be a transition period to adjust to the credits pending. From September 12-18, credits will be pended for 1 day and from September 19-25 credits will be pended for 7 days. After which all credits will be pended for 14 days.
A quick browsing of the forum thread shows creators are happier about the shortened time, but still wish it wasn’t happening. A few creators are still claiming to call it quits. IMVU is a business. They have to make policies that work best for them. We can choose to work with it or not. But I have to say, content creation is a lot of fun… if you can overlook the bumps along the way, the opportunity to have a rewarding career will always be there.
